Fernandes said the Paralympics had shown him "that the determination is."

"Thank you, boys and girls, to give us all the spirit of never giving up despite all the obstacles we face," he posted on Instagram yesterday.

He added that all gold medalists were entitled to free flights for life while silver and bronze obtain free flights for five and three years respectively.
